Start your new career as a Wastewater Operator with MAU at Milliken in Pendleton, SC. As a Wastewater Operator, you will operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant, water filter plant, and utility systems to ensure environmental compliance and operational efficiency.

What We Offer:
  • $20.11 – $28.34 per hour (based on shift and experience)
  • Additional pay based on license:
    • A License – $29.19/hr
    • B License – $26.29/hr
    • C License – $22.17/hr

What We’re Looking For:
  • A, B, or C South Carolina Wastewater Operator License
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid South Carolina Driver’s License
  • Mobile Equipment License or willingness to train
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Willingness to work holidays and in unfavorable weather conditions
  • Ability to wear required PPE (earplugs, steel-toe boots, gloves, goggles, etc.)
  • Commitment to safety processes and environmental compliance
What You’ll Do as a Wastewater Operator:
  • Operate and maintain the Wastewater Treatment Plant and related equipment (pumps, mixers, clarifiers, tanks, etc.)
  • Oversee operations of the Filter Plant, including raw creek pump station, coagulators, settling tank, sand filters, and clearwells
  • Monitor and maintain the air compressor system and utility support equipment
  • Conduct wastewater sampling and testing (TSS, COD, Nitrogen, etc.) and ensure samples are shipped to the appropriate labs
  • Perform regular rounds to check pH, DO, pump speed, flow rate, and system condition
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support fire and environmental emergency responses, including spill control and equipment monitoring
  • Maintain a clean and safe Utilities work area
