Location: Tyler, Texas
Description
HOLT Truck Centers in Tyler, Texas, is seeking an experienced Truck Field Service Technician. This role involves providing exceptional customer service while inspecting, repairing, and maintaining trucks, trailers, and attachments for On-Highway vehicles. Possession of a CDL Class A is required.
The incumbent is expected to model the following practices daily:

Essential Functions
- Model, promote, and reinforce HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools and practices.
- Troubleshoot and repair On-Highway trucks for both CAT and OEM systems.
- Perform engine and equipment repairs on trucks and trailers.
- Travel to job sites for repairs and parts retrieval.
- Communicate effectively with customers, including explaining repair costs and scheduling appointments.
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble equipment to factory specifications.
- Perform quality control inspections, including road testing.
- Use diagnostic software to troubleshoot and reprogram engines.
- Complete service reports, timecards, and parts requisitions.
- Adhere to safety regulations and maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
- Respond to after-hours customer needs as required.
- Meet performance goals, including maintaining a 95% P Factor and less than 1% rework rate.
- Complete all required training and development courses.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of truck and trailer systems and their functions.
- Proficiency with tools, equipment, and diagnostic software for CAT and OEM systems.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Skilled in operating hand tools, power tools, and forklifts.
- Clean driving record and ability to operate trucks on public roads.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school accreditation preferred.
- At least two years of experience required; three or more years preferred.
- CDL Class A or B required.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
- Completion of HOLT’s VBL training and application of its principles.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, and climbing.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 70 lbs.
- Work safely underneath equipment and in various outdoor conditions.
- Regular use of hands, visual inspection, and reaction to auditory signals.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to weather extremes, hazardous conditions, and contaminants.
- Work in noisy environments and with high-speed rotating equipment.
- Requires wearing appropriate protective equipment.
Travel
Travel up to 40%, including overnight trips, may be required.
Additional Requirements
- Must own and maintain necessary tools for the job.
- Clean driving record is required.
