Truck Driver - Basic

We are looking to grow our pool of truck drivers. We are looking for a reliable and responsible Truck Driver to transport goods across various locations in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate should have excellent driving skills, a clean driving record, and the ability to navigate long routes, ensuring timely delivery of goods while adhering to all safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transportation: Safely operate a truck to deliver goods to various locations within the assigned route.

  • Route Planning: Follow scheduled routes and adjust as necessary due to road conditions or customer requirements.

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Inspect the truck and related equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning. Report mechanical issues or needed repairs.

  • Cargo Handling: Load and unload goods safely and efficiently, ensuring the truck is properly loaded and secured.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and proof of deliveries.

  • Compliance: Follow traffic laws and safety regulations, including federal and state regulations regarding trucking operations.

  • Communication: Maintain contact with dispatchers, other drivers, and supervisors to provide updates and receive instructions.

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a positive and professional relationship with clients and customers.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role in the transportation industry.

  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) and clean driving record. Additional endorsements may be required based on the type of vehicle driven.

  • Skills:

    • Strong driving and navigation skills.

    • Ability to operate heavy machinery and long-haul trucks.

    • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads.

    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

    • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

    • Basic knowledge of truck maintenance and safety procedures.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for long hours, lift and carry up to at least 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading cargo.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in long-distance or local deliveries.

  • Familiarity with GPS systems and mapping software.

Working Conditions:

  • May require long hours, including nights and weekends.

  • Extended periods of time on the road with overnight stays.

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions depending on the delivery route.
