Description: Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Program Manager to support our Hardware Design TPMs in driving engineering design deliverables, managing hardware component delivery, and creating development schedules. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of product development processes, familiarity with product design fabrication processes, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
Support Hardware Design TPMs in coordinating and driving engineering design deliverables, including specifications, DOE, and validation plans
Manage delivery of hardware components for development builds and drive qualification to meet mass production timelines
Create development, delivery, and qualification schedules based on system requirements, technical challenges, lead-times, and business needs
Manage program structure to optimize clarity and efficiency for program teams and leadership
Communicate program statuses, identifying potential setbacks, including vendor tooling schedules and design sprints
Manage communication within and between internal cross-functional and external partners
Ensure program documents are complete, current, and available for staff and leadership review
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
5 years of experience working as a technology development program manager in consumer electronics
Experience working with overseas suppliers of hardware components
Experience in ODM, JDM, and CM vendor engagement models
Knowledge of phase gate approach to technology development programs
Experience with mechanical system development, design for manufacturing, tooling, validation, and characterization processes
Adept at communicating, planning, with high level of attention to detail
Knowledge of program top issue tracking
Experience operating across multiple teams and programs
Scope of Work and Deliverables
Product design convergence and design lock
DFM and OK2fab
Material drives to system builds
DOE and Build Matrix definition and planning
Scheduling and planning of HW engineering deliverables
Support Smart Glasses program planning and build strategy
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a hardware engineering role
Experience working with a large number of cross-functional partners
