Job Overview
Allied West Paper Corp. is seeking a Deputy Packing Lead to support warehouse operations by maintaining communication across teams, training associates, ensuring accurate attendance records, and overseeing teams of 10+ employees. This role is hands-on, requiring active involvement in the warehouse environment, data entry, and coordination to ensure smooth daily operations.

Duties

• Communicate with warehouse personnel to provide and receive information, resolve issues, and coordinate activities

• Conduct daily walk-through inspections of the warehouse to identify safety hazards, cleanliness, or unusual activity

• Train, assign work, and coordinate schedules for team members; assist with packing orders when needed

• Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and recognize achievements

• Maintain organization and cleanliness of packing areas (remove debris, broken pallets, shrink wrap, etc.)

• Track and confirm daily employee attendance and timesheets

• Address associate questions about work duties or the warehouse environment

• Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery; oversee general maintenance as needed

• Work alongside warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks

Experience

• Bilingual: English & Spanish (fluent in reading, writing, and speaking)

• Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience (required)

• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience (required)

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends (must work at least one weekend day with one weekday off)

• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively

• Proficiency with computers, PDA scan technology, and shipping systems

• Licensed to operate warehouse equipment (Forklift, Bendi, Cherry Picker, EPJ, Turret)

• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more

• Knowledge of 3PL, picking, packing, inbound, and inventory processes

• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management and order fulfillment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with diverse teams

• Data entry skills with strong organizational abilities

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
