Position: Staff Accountant

Job Description:

• Support day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Contribute to the integrity of intercompany and general ledger activities
• Develop a deep understanding of operational workflows, financial systems, and general ledger framework
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple entities, resolving discrepancies promptly
• Collaborate with internal departments to investigate and correct intercompany transaction issues for accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and post credit card accruals and reclassifications as necessary
• Execute month-end close duties, including journal entry preparation and reconciliation of bank and balance sheet accounts
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial recordkeeping
• Evaluate current procedures and suggest process improvements for increased efficiency and accuracy
• Support special finance and accounting projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
• 2-4 years of experience in general ledger-focused accounting roles
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines consistently
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
• Capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite preferred
• Experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Exposure to captive insurance, self-funded medical plans, and multi-state sales tax compliance a plus
