Join an expanding construction firm based in Dallas, TX, as a dedicated Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will possess over 5 years of accounting experience and proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage. This role presents a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Staff Accountant Role:

• Support the construction company by ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and account management
• Conduct account reconciliations in QuickBooks, Sage, and bank statements
• Verify the precision of general ledger records and assist in the month-end close process
• Reconcile corporate credit card statements and oversee credit applications
• Track subcontractor compliance, including handling W-9s, insurance certificates, and lien waivers
• Record various overhead expenses such as per diem, direct charges, contractor payments, legal and accounting fees, rent, and related costs
• Submit invoices to Accounts Payable, review notices, and follow up with subcontractors for documentation or outstanding payments
• Alert management about significant outstanding payments by subcontractors
• Manage incoming mail and scan invoices for processing
• Maintain well-organized digital and physical accounting records
• Perform additional accounting tasks as required

Staff Accountant Background Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with construction industry exposure
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other accounting software is advantageous
• Excellent communication and time management aptitude
• Enthusiasm for learning, growing, and contributing within a dynamic construction environment
