Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team, with a strong focus on media full stack and backend development. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PHP, React, and C which is used for building media-related applications and services, as well as a solid understanding of media ingestion and encoding, backend engineering principles, and media stack knowledge. In this role, the candidate will work closely with a senior software engineer to design, develop, test, and debug complex software systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.

Job Responsibilities:
Debug complex systems, including those related to media ingestion, to identify and fix issues that impact performance, reliability, and scalability.
Implement best practices for operational excellence, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems to detect issues before they become critical, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, communicating technical information effectively to resolve issues and improve processes.
Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that all parties understand the nature of issues and the steps being taken to resolve them.
Design and develop media full stack and backend systems, utilizing PHP, React, and C programming languages.
Collaborate with media engineers to optimize media ingestion and encoding processes, improving overall system performance and user experience.
Troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues specifically in the media stack.

Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing, and delivery.
Strong understanding of media ingestion and encoding, backend engineering principles, and media stack knowledge.
Proficiency in PHP, React, and C programming languages.
Experience with media full stack and backend development, including design, implementation, and maintenance of complex software systems.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or relevant field required.
5 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on media full stack and backend development.
Media stack experience (ingestion and encoding) and familiarity with encoding formats Av1, HVEC is highly desirable.
