Description

As an Automotive Technician at CarMax, you will be an essential part of our team, ensuring that every vehicle is safe and ready for our customers. Your key responsibilities will include performing quality repairs and maintenance on a variety of car systems like engines, brakes, and heating & A/C. On a typical day, you will diagnose issues, complete repairs, communicate with customers about necessary services, and keep organized records of your work. Your skills and expertise will help us maintain our reputation for providing a reliable and straightforward car buying experience.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• At least one year of experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Engine repair
  • Suspension & steering
  • Heating & A/C
  • Brakes
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• ASE certifications are preferred, or willingness to obtain:
  • A1–A8 (Engine, Transmission, Suspension, Brakes, A/C, Electrical, etc.)

Nice to Have

• Experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle issues.
• Background in customer service to enhance the customer experience.
• Commitment to continued education and professional development in automotive technology.
