Robotics Data Collector

HireArt is helping our client find Robotics Data Collectors to play a pivotal role in advancing its AI systems by producing high-quality, robust data across a wide range of real-world tasks.

In this role, you’ll manually control robotic arms to perform everyday tasks ranging from household chores like loading dishwashers and folding clothes to industrial tasks like folding and stacking boxes. Your work will directly influence how well the robots learn to perform these activities safely, accurately, and efficiently.

You’ll collaborate closely with engineers and researchers, providing critical data and feedback that help shape the next generation of intelligent robotic systems.
 
Who We’re Looking For
Candidates who are hands-on, process- & detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that blends precision, repetition, and creativity.

We’re open to any professional background as long as you have strong fine motor skills! Hobbyists or professional musicians, hairstylists, tattoo artists, crafters, model builders, and the like are all encouraged to apply!


Available Shifts:
Monday-Friday

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM

  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM-11:00 PM

Opportunity for overtime with optional weekend shifts based on business needs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate robotic arms using various controllers (e.g., VR controller, custom controller) to complete a diverse range of tasks.

  • Follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, accuracy, and safety during task execution.

  • Perform basic labeling and data annotation during data collection to maintain dataset quality.

  • Produce clear, detailed reports on robot performance and data quality to support engineering and research analysis and task iteration.

  • Learn how to control the robotic systems during the first week of work.


After the initial 2-month contract, strong performers will have their contract extended.

Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent practical experience

  • Strong attention to detail

  • High degree of fine motor control (manual dexterity)

  • Ability to stand and move for long periods throughout an 8-hour shift

  • Comfort following detailed instructions and working independently with minimal supervision

  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative attitude


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with robotic systems, teleoperation, or robotics data collection in lab or production environments

  • Backgrounds involving fine motor skills (e.g., hairdresser, tattoo artist, musician, arts & crafts, gamer, or similar precision work)

  • Experience with data annotation tools and labeling methodologies

  • Familiarity with basic Linux OS, command line interfaces, and general computer proficiency

  • Understanding of lab or industrial safety protocols
