Implement the goals of our after school care program provided Preferred School Care. Create and execute a lesson plan with a daily schedule with age-appropriate classroom and enrichment activities mandated by our licensing agency, Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL). Depending on the position and curriculum implemented, specific goals and instructions will be provided to you by your site director.

1. Plan and implement recreational, educational and cultural activities
2. Prepare and implement lesson plans/activities for after-school students.
3. Meet with team as needed for planning and preparation of activities.
4. Coordinate staff support, scheduling and space for Enrichment, Technology and Academic activities.
5. Maintain site to meet and or exceed Child Care Licensing and Quality Rated standards where possible.
6. Establish and maintain positive lines of communication with parents and/or guardians of assigned participants, including monthly newsletter articles and phone calls to parents when appropriate.

Requirements

Teacher should have CDA or Associate Degree with emphasis on Early Childhood Education background. Must be mature, sensitive to the needs of children and must exhibit good interpersonal skills. Classroom teacher experience is a plus. Applicant must complete a satisfactory nationwide background check before employment. And complete background check with the Atlanta Public School system. Teacher must be registered in DECAL – GaPDS database. 1 - 2 years previous experience preferred.
