Propagation Supervisor

### **Position Summary**
The Propagation Supervisor oversees the health and productivity of mothers, clones, and plants until bay planting. This role is critical in preventing pests and pathogens that can impact overall farm efficiency. The supervisor manages propagation operations, directs staff, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and sterile practices.

### **Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee the propagation of healthy clones, including preparing and maintaining backup mothers for seasonal rotation.
- Quarantine and treat plants from external sources and ensure proper storage and handling.
- Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems.
- Inspect plants for pests, diseases, and mutations; perform spot checks and use microscopes as needed.
- Collect and report data on clones, plant transfers, and inventory in Trellis software.
- Ensure proper labeling and tracking of plants for audits and harvest planning.
- Direct and coordinate daily employee activities, including planting, irrigation, and maintaining sterile work practices.
- Monitor employee productivity and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Maintain a clean, efficient, professional, and safe work environment at all times.
- Ensure compliance with PPE and OSHA regulations.
- Perform administrative duties such as reporting, timekeeping, and documentation.

### **Skills & Qualifications**
- Minimum 21 years old.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and on-call as needed.
- Experience operating forklifts and microscopes.
- Ability to identify beneficial and harmful insects, viruses, and plant mutations.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing and multitasking effectively.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to utilize employee strengths to optimize daily and weekly tasks.

### **Education & Experience**
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of greenhouse or cultivation experience.
- 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
- Clean DMV record; travel may be required.

### **Physical & Mental Requirements**
- Ability to lift 15–50 pounds multiple times per shift.
- Comfortable standing, sitting, crouching, reaching, balancing, and climbing ladders or step stools.
- Ability to work in greenhouse conditions with high humidity, moisture, and varying temperatures.
- Capable of planning, directing, and adjusting daily work schedules for the team.
- Adaptable to changing priorities or management decisions.
