As our next Project Control Specialist, you won’t just be crunching numbers — you’ll be a key partner in ensuring the financial success of high-impact construction projects across the region. From forecasting and reporting to billing and compliance, you’ll collaborate closely with Project Managers, senior leadership, and field teams to bring financial clarity, drive performance, and support decision-making that keeps our projects — and our communities — moving forward.
What You’ll Do
Forecasting & Financial Visibility

Keep project budgets aligned with change orders and cost updates.

Reconcile labor, equipment, and indirect costs across key systems like HCSS HeavyJob and Spectrum.

Lead weekly and monthly earned revenue forecasts that guide leadership decision-making.
Billing & Receivables
-
Prepare and manage monthly billing cycles, forecasts, and variance reports.

Ensure timely approvals and entries, and follow up on outstanding receivables.

Monitor job cash flow and maintain strong AR processes.
Project Financials & Analysis

Manage all accounting aspects for assigned projects, including POs, purchasing cards, and subcontract compliance.

Prepare monthly project financial packages and participate in review meetings with leadership.

Provide variance analysis and forecasting insights that add value to decision-making.
Cost Code & Job Set-Up

Maintain cost code integrity and budget accuracy from project initiation.

Adjust codes as needed to ensure clean and consistent reporting.
Close-Outs & Incentives

Reconcile costs, confirm warranties, and calculate performance-based payouts.

Ensure project close-outs are accurate, timely, and fully documented.
Training & Continuous Improvement

Assist in training Project Managers and Coordinators on cost systems and processes.

Identify and implement improvements in accounting workflows.
What You Bring to the Team
-
Solid experience in construction project accounting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; VBA/Access a plus.

Experience with accounting software such as Viewpoint Spectrum or Procore preferred.

Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Detail-driven with the ability to manage multiple moving parts with confidence.
Your Background
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
OR -
4+ years of hands-on construction accounting experience
