The Production Operator I supports a team-oriented production process by operating automated equipment, performing primary troubleshooting, supporting preventive maintenance, and ensuring sanitation and safety standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

• Follow the production schedule for job assignments and reporting times

• Maintain a clean work area at all times while on duty

• Comply with work rules, safety rules, and GMPs

• Support a safe work environment for yourself and teammates

• Operate automated production equipment and perform primary diagnosis of machine failures

• Assist with preventive maintenance and sanitation of related equipment

• Use Enterprise software for data input, reporting, and production-related functions

• May be assigned to operate metal detectors (must be trained/certified)

Possible job assignments include:

Pan Machine Operator

• Set up pan system equipment (pan-o-mat, proof box, oven, etc.)

• Ensure continuous flow of pans into the pan-o-mat

• Set up pan cooling system and guides; ensure correct stacking/storage

Divider Operator

• Operate dough pump/kneader, divider, rounder, overhead proofer

• Set up divider; ensure correct weight/speed per product standards

• Assist with mixing dough

Moulder Operator

• Set up equipment (sheeter rollers, flour sifters, guide rails, etc.)

• Ensure proper dough size/length, sheeting/moulding/panning standards

• Remove double dough pieces from pans

Coating/Prep Control Operator

• Prepare icings according to formula and schedule standards

• Align product as needed and monitor icing coverage

• Record icing mix confirmations in Enterprise software

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Technical certification course completion (e.g., HVAC, auto maintenance/repair, etc.)

  • OR equivalent military training / related technical training

  • OR 45+ college credit hours may substitute for technical training

  • A technical certification may include the AIB “Science of Baking” course

• Ability to work as part of a high-functioning team

• Ability to learn and use Enterprise software (data input/retrieval/reporting)

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience
