Position: Payroll Manager
Our client based in San Antonio, Texas is actively seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team on a direct hire basis.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Manager:
- Oversee the processing of payroll taxes in compliance with IRS section 3504 and state unemployment regulations
- Manage payroll, tax, and accounts payable procedures
- Perform intricate accounting tasks to support automated payroll systems and financial records
- Ensure payroll processes are carried out accurately and efficiently
- Implement and maintain technical accounting standards
- Coordinate payroll tax deposits and interactions with tax authorities
- Supervise the preparation of various tax reports and filings including 941, 940, SUTA, and W-2 forms
- Monitor and reconcile payroll and tax data across multiple entities
- Stay informed about changes in federal and state payroll regulations and provide training to staff
- Attend continuing education classes related to payroll and tax processing
- Ensure staff are trained on updates to payroll software
- Adhere to federal, state, and company policies and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements for the Payroll Manager Role:
- Preferably a college degree or CPP certification
- 3-4 years of experience in payroll accounting
- Prior experience in a managerial or leadership capacity
- Hands-on experience with manual payroll processing
- Proficiency in preparing and processing data in formats such as Excel, CSV, and TXT
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state payroll laws, tax requirements, and W-2 reporting
- Familiarity with modern payroll accounting practices and office procedures
