We are a team of former childcare professionals and parents and we have experienced how hard it can be to find child care. As we dug into it more, we found that there is a child care shortage in America and that if child care providers had a solution to help them with their staffing issues that we could help solve it. So that's what we set out to do through Upkid.

About the role
We’re looking for a warm, energetic Toddler Teacher to join our playful, professional team! If you love tiny high-fives, building big vocabularies, and turning everyday moments into “aha!” discoveries, you’ll fit right in. 🧩✨
What you’ll do
- Create a cheerful, safe, and inclusive classroom where toddlers feel seen, soothed, and celebrated
- Plan developmentally appropriate, hands-on activities (sensory play, music & movement, early STEM, art)
- Support social–emotional skills: sharing, turn-taking, naming feelings, problem-solving
- Build daily routines that promote independence (snack, potty/diapering, wash-up, nap)
- Track milestones and share joyful updates with families (photos, anecdotes, progress notes)
- Collaborate with teammates to set up engaging environments and smooth transitions
- Keep the classroom sparkling and compliant with health & safety standards

- Stay calm under toddler-level plot twists (spilled paint, missing sock, sudden dance party)
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma/GED; ability to meet state childcare requirements (background check, TB, CPR/First Aid)
- Preferred: CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field), plus 1+ year in a toddler classroom
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) and positive guidance
