Description

As a Line / Grill Cook at WorkWhile, you will be at the heart of our kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish is cooked to perfection. Your day will involve working the grill and line stations, managing multiple tickets at once, and cooking proteins and sides to the correct temperature and standard. You’ll also be responsible for plating with consistency, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and keeping service running smoothly during busy shifts. By working closely with the rest of the culinary team, you’ll help deliver an excellent dining experience for every guest.

Requirements

• Hands-on Experience: Previous experience as a line cook or grill cook in a busy restaurant or commercial kitchen.

• Cooking Skills: Ability to prepare proteins to exact temperature, manage timing across multiple orders, and produce consistent plates.

• Food Safety Certification: Must understand and follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.

• Team Player: Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with chefs, servers, and fellow cooks.

• Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tickets during service while maintaining accuracy and speed.

Nice to Have

• Culinary Training: Formal culinary education or relevant certifications are a plus.

• Grill Expertise: Familiarity with grill station techniques, such as creating even grill marks and cooking without timers.

• Versatility: Experience across multiple stations (sauté, fry, oven, etc.) adds value.

• Creativity: Willingness to contribute ideas for specials, prep efficiencies, or menu development.
