Job Description
Lead Snowflake Engineer
A consulting client of Next Ventures is seeking a Lead Snowflake Engineer/Architect to work with their financial services end client on a 2 year contract with possibility for extension or conversion.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and loading into Snowflake.
Implement ETL processes using Snowflake features like Snowpipe, Streams, and Tasks.
Design and optimize efficient data models and schemas for reporting and analytics.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data warehouse and query performance.
Ensure data consistency and security through synchronization processes and RBAC models.
Manage SQL performance tuning and database optimization.
Work with AWS configurations (e.g., S3/EC2) and integrate Snowflake with third-party tools like MSK Kafka Connect and Delta Lake.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Strong expertise in ETL processes, SQL, Python, and Unix.
Hands-on experience with AWS services like Glue, S3, Lambda, and Step Functions.
In-depth knowledge of Snowflake features (e.g., Snowpipe, Streams, and Stored Procedures).
Familiarity with Airflow for orchestrating data workflows.
Solid understanding of data modeling, database migration, and RBAC models.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
