Lead Preschool Teacher - Unknown

Unknown, Unknown
Our Mission Child care providers are the unsung heroes of our nation. Our goal is to support them so they can continue to do the important work of caring for the next generation. Founded by Childcare Professionals and Parents We are a team of former childcare professionals and parents and we have experienced how hard it can be to find child care. As we dug into it more, we found that there is a child care shortage in America and that if child care providers had a solution to help them with their staffing issues that we could help solve it. So that's what we set out to do through Upkid.

About Peachtree Play & Learn

Peachtree Play & Learn is a network of early childhood programs in Atlanta built around one simple idea: children learn best through play, relationships, and curiosity.

Each of our locations reflects its neighborhood while sharing a common mission — to create safe, joyful, and inclusive classrooms where teachers feel supported and children thrive.

We believe great teaching starts with empowered educators, so we invest in professional growth, collaboration, and a culture of care.

About the Role

As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you’ll guide a classroom of curious, energetic 3–5-year-olds through hands-on, play-based learning experiences. You’ll design activities that nurture creativity, social-emotional skills, and early academic concepts while ensuring a warm, consistent environment where children feel known and valued.

You’ll collaborate closely with assistant teachers, partner with families, and uphold Peachtree Play & Learn’s high standards of safety, communication, and child-centered care.

Responsibilities

  1. Plan and implement a balanced, play-based curriculum aligned with developmentally appropriate practices.
  2. Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports emotional regulation, problem-solving, and social connection.
  3. Lead and mentor assistant teachers, modeling professional communication and classroom best practices.
  4. Observe, document, and assess each child’s progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
  5. Communicate regularly with parents to share successes, growth, and areas of focus.
  6. Maintain compliance with state licensing and center safety standards (including health checks, sanitation, and ratio requirements).
  7. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and center events as an active team member.

Qualifications

  1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required or in progress).
  2. Minimum of 2 years experience in a licensed preschool or early childhood classroom (lead or co-lead role preferred).
  3. CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain prior to start date.
  4. Familiarity with play-based or emergent curriculum models (Creative Curriculum, HighScope, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, etc.).
  5. Excellent communication skills, warmth, and professionalism with both children and adults.
  6. Ability to foster collaboration, patience, and creativity in the classroom.

What We Offer

  1. Competitive pay based on experience and credentials
  2. Paid holidays and time off
  3. Opportunities for professional development and advancement
  4. Supportive, family-like work environment
  5. Beautiful classrooms designed to inspire curiosity and connection
