**The Role** We are looking for a responsible Industrial Custodian to maintain and protect our clients facilities. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian, or janitor, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning, and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. They will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs. **Responsibilities** - Responsible for utilizing a master cleaning list with task schedule for the plant. - Floor Maintenance includes, but is not limited to, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing and polishing all floor surfaces, including hallways and stairways. - Operation of industrial cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaner, floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, scissor lift, boom lift, and forklift). Mix chemicals and cleaning solutions as required. - Office Maintenance includes but not limited to dusting, waxes, polish office furniture, clean office shelves and file cabinets-disinfects phones, empty all waste receptacles from fabric or carpet. - Restroom maintenance- wash, clean, disinfect all toilet bowls, sinks, urinals, and floors. - Breakroom maintenance-clean and disinfect all areas in the breakroom - Clean floors, windows, walls, appliances, tables, and chairs. - Replace all paper products as required. Remove/empty all waste receptacles. - Perform minor repairs around the facility in support of the maintenance team - Washes windows, screens, sills, woodwork, doors, desks, walls, and ceilings. - Orders and stocks needed materials and supplies. - Performs all other related duties as assigned. **Safety & Compliance:** - Be aware of hazards in the workspace. - Retain and understand department specific training. - Report safety incidents/ concerns and comply with follow-up actions. - Be compliant with area safety requirements, state regulations and PPE requirements. - Follow GMP, biosecurity, sanitation or other quality and compliance requirements. - Perform record keeping accurately and completely as directed by a lead or supervisor. - Maintain and calibrate tools, equipment and machinery as directed by a lead or supervisor. - Report and escalate safety & quality concerns. **Working Conditions** - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. - Must be able to repetitively climb ladders and/or stairs and work from elevated platforms. - Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus. - Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds (and up to 100 pounds with assistance) AND must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with product. - Must be able to work in an environment that is 85+ degrees and 70% humidity for extended periods. - Must be able to work at heights. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment. - Work involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil). **Qualifications** - Minimum of a high school diploma or GED - Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task - Ability to work well with others while also completing individually assigned tasks. - Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role. - Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances **Additional Requirements** - Must be at a minimum of 21 years of age. - Must possess valid state ID. - Must possess a valid driver’s license. - Must be able to obtain, and maintain state badging requirements to work in the cannabis industry (requires background check and state review **_About Vangst:_**   _Vangst is the cannabis industry's hiring platform.
