HR Associate

Our client in Washington D.C. is seeking a Human Resources Associate for an immediate, direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage full recruitment lifecycle for assigned positions independently
• Collaborate with hiring managers to define role requirements and competencies
• Update job descriptions in coordination with HR leadership
• Oversee background checks and employment verifications
• Conduct new hire orientations and facilitate smooth onboarding
• Support employee recognition programs
• Stay abreast of DC Paid Family Leave, FMLA, and LOA regulations
• Handle employee inquiries, escalating issues as necessary
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
• Provide guidance to employees on policies
• Monitor HR metrics, prepare reports, and suggest improvements
• Stay informed about HR best practices and technologies
• Promote mission-driven culture and engagement
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
• At least 1 year of recruitment or HR generalist experience
• Alignment with Christian organization’s values
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
• PHR or other HR certification is a plus
• Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
