Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Technician II – Shop)

Location: 5130 Davidson Hwy, Concord, NC 28027
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7AM – 5PM (Overtime Eligible)
Pay Range: $26 – $31+/hour (DOE) + Quarterly Branch Performance Bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy construction equipment to manufacturer standards.

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

  • Handle repairs on Tier 4 engines, DPF, SCR, EGR aftertreatment systems.

  • Use diagnostic software, schematics, and welding methods when needed.

  • Maintain Sunstate’s safety-first culture while completing all repairs.

  • Document work performed and communicate with team/branch staff.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience (construction equipment or rental background preferred).

  • Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine repairs.

  • Tools valued at $5,000+ to perform repairs.

  • DOT Medical Card required.

  • Safety-focused, detail-oriented, and a team player.
