About the Role

Paladin Security is hiring Casual Healthcare Security Guards to support the Quinte Health network, including facilities in Belleville, Trenton, Picton, and Bancroft. This critical role involves ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. It requires flexibility, professionalism, and a strong sense of public service.

Position Details

• Pay Rate: $17.95/hour

• Employment Type: Casual

• Location: On-site across 4 Quinte Health facilities

• Availability: Must be able to work various 12-hour shifts including weekends/holidays

• Pre-deployment training location: Kingston, Ontario

Job Responsibilities:  

• Present a smart, visible, and alert security presence 

• Greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises 

• Ensure the safety & security of clients, buildings, and assets 

• Work effectively, both independently and as part of a team 

• Carry out all security duties as specified (including, but not limited to): 

• Proactive/reactive interior & exterior patrols 

  • Response & assistance in emergency situations 

  • Documenting & reporting of any/all security events on shift 

  • Investigate routine incidents 

  • Patient watches 

  • Parking & smoking by-law enforcement 

  • Hospital policy awareness & enforcement 

  • Access control/key control 

  • Monthly safety inspections 

  • Additional duties as assigned 

Requirements

Must-Have Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License

• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR – Level C (WSIB-approved provider)

• Legally authorized to work in Canada

• Double COVID-19 vaccination (proof required)

• Full MMR immunization (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

• Immunization records for Varicella, Pertussis, and TB (Step 1 & 2)

• Willing and able to be clean-shaven for N95 mask fit testing

• Valid G Class Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle

• Willing to commute to Kingston for pre-deployment training

• Must be able to rotate between all 4 Quinte Health sites

• Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check

• Excellent verbal and written English communication

• Must provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and MOAB

  • OR be willing to complete Paladin’s 4-day unpaid training (covered by company; requires 6-month commitment)

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience

• Ability to work independently and make decisions in dynamic situations
