About the role
We’re seeking a warm, organized, and joy-sparking Head Teacher to lead our early childhood classroom. You’ll set the tone for curiosity, kindness, and safety—coaching teammates, partnering with families, and turning little moments into big learning.
What you’ll do
- Lead the classroom: Model positive guidance, manage daily routines, and ensure a calm, predictable environment
- Own the curriculum: Plan and adapt developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons; differentiate for individual needs and interests
- Coach the team: Mentor assistant/float teachers with clear expectations, feedback, and “in-the-moment” support
- Partner with families: Greet warmly, share daily updates, hold conferences, and collaborate on goals
- Track growth: Observe, document, and assess milestones; use data to refine plans and interventions
- Champion safety & compliance: Maintain ratios, supervise diapering/toileting, follow health protocols, and keep records aligned with licensing standards
- Set up success: Design engaging learning centers, maintain materials, and coordinate smooth transitions
- Collaborate cross-classroom: Work with directors, specialists, and support staff (including IEP/IFSP partners when applicable)
You’ll thrive here if you…
- Love coaching others as much as teaching children
- Stay calm, cheerful, and solutions-focused when plans change
- Communicate clearly—with empathy, humor, and respect
