### **Position Summary:** The Cannabis Harvest Technician plays a critical role in the post-cultivation phase of cannabis production. This individual is responsible for the careful and efficient harvesting of cannabis plants, ensuring product quality, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role includes cutting, defoliation, wet/dry trimming, plant bucking, and preparing harvested material for drying, curing, and processing. * * * ### **Key Responsibilities:** - **Harvesting:** - Safely and efficiently harvest mature cannabis plants following standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Perform defoliation, debranching, and wet trimming when required. - Accurately label and tag plants and plant parts for tracking and compliance purposes. - **Bucking and Trimming:** - Separate flowers from stems using hand tools or mechanical buckers. - Conduct manual trimming or operate trimming machines while maintaining high standards of appearance and quality. - **Product Handling & Quality Control:** - Inspect harvested material for signs of mold, pests, and damage. - Handle product carefully to avoid damage or contamination. - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and tools to ensure GMP and regulatory compliance. - **Compliance & Tracking:** - Follow METRC or internal tracking protocols for inventory and product movement. - Ensure all work is performed according to local/state cannabis regulations and company policies. - **Drying Room Support (as needed):** - Hang and organize plants in the drying area to optimize airflow and drying times. - Monitor environmental conditions in drying and curing spaces. - **Team Collaboration & Efficiency:** - Work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment. - Meet daily/weekly productivity goals while maintaining quality standards. - Report any issues or discrepancies to management promptly. * * * ### **Qualifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Previous experience in cannabis cultivation, harvest, or agriculture preferred but not required. - Basic understanding of cannabis anatomy and plant life cycles is a plus. - Comfortable working around strong plant odors and handling sticky plant material. * * * ### **Skills and Abilities:** - Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Time management and organizational skills. - Willingness to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. - Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work environments. * * * ### **Physical Requirements:** - Ability to stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods. - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. - Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and humidity levels. - Capable of repetitive hand motions (cutting, trimming, bucking). * * * ### **Work Environment:** - Fast-paced production or cultivation facility. - Exposure to loud equipment and humid or dry conditions. - Adherence to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements at all times. _About Vangst:_ _Vangst is the cannabis industry's hiring platform.
