Overview

Baycrest Hospital is a leading academic health sciences centre offering a full continuum of care for older adults, including independent living, assisted living, long-term care, and specialized post-acute hospital services—all within one campus.

As a Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator, you will oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare control centre and play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors. This position is ideal for candidates looking to develop skills in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to grow within Paladin or pursue a future career in law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate multiple systems, including CCTV, access control, fire panels, and life-safety technologies.
• Make emergency overhead announcements in accordance with hospital procedures.
• Answer telephones and dispatch security staff as needed.
• Assist in tracking and deployment of on-site security personnel.
• Handle incident call-taking, dispatching, and communication logging.
• Liaise professionally with visitors, clients, and hospital staff.
• Manage Lost & Found processes.
• Control the issuance and return of facility keys and ID/access cards.
• Issue visitor and contractor badges.
• Maintain exceptional customer service and professional presentation.
• Use computer applications, two-way radios, and SOC tools effectively.
• Apply working knowledge of access control systems and CCTV.
• Experience in dispatching or supervisory support is preferred.

Requirements

• Immunization Record: TB 1+2, MMR, Varicella

• COVID-19 Vaccination: Fully vaccinated (minimum 2 doses)
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid CPR & First Aid Certification (Level C, WSIB-approved provider)
• Vulnerable Sector Check (completed upon hire)
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in security
