Responsibilities

• Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, entrances, and exits, to ensure safety and security.
• Operate security cameras and alarm systems; report suspicious activity immediately.
• Monitor and control entry points, ensuring only authorized individuals access restricted areas.
• Act quickly in emergencies such as medical incidents, alarms, or security threats, assisting hospital staff during crises and evacuations.
• Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff while ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
• De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts professionally.
• Document all incidents and daily activities accurately and complete detailed reports.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and law enforcement to maintain a safe environment.
• Enforce hospital safety standards and visitor protocols.

Requirements

• Valid Security License for the Province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination (two doses)
• Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
• Diploma in Justice Studies or Police Foundations considered an asset
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
