Location: Kingston, ON (Various Healthcare Sites)
Schedule: Continental shifts, rotating days & nights (8–12 hours)
Pay Rate: $18.35 – $22.61/hour
Employment Type: Full Time
Averaging Agreement: Overtime after 88 hours

Overview

Paladin Security is seeking dedicated, professional Healthcare Security Guards to support operations across Kingston Health Science Centre and other healthcare facilities in the Kingston region. This role is ideal for candidates who excel in high-visibility positions, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are passionate about providing exceptional safety and support to patients, staff, and visitors.

As a member of our healthcare security team, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety, enforcing hospital policies, and responding to incidents with professionalism and care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional, visible security presence
• Greet, assist, and direct the public
• Protect clients, staff, buildings, and assets
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Conduct interior/exterior patrols
• Respond to emergencies and provide support
• Document and report incidents; conduct investigations as required
• Perform patient watches
• Enforce hospital policies, procedures, and by-laws
• Manage access control, keys, and parking enforcement
• Support monthly safety inspections
• Execute additional assigned duties

Requirements

Requirements (Must Have)

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C Certificate (WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean-shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum double-dose)
• A copy of immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Pertussis, TB Skin Tests – Step 1 & 2)
• English proficiency (oral & written)
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Nice to Have

• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience
• 6+ months of customer service experience
• Ability to provide certifications in Stay Safe
• Applicants lacking Stay Safe certification may complete Paladin’s program prior to onboarding
• Certification is unpaid as it is a pre-requisite
• Paladin covers all costs with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
