Field Generator Technician

MAU is hiring a Field Generator Technician for our client in Columbia, SC.
As a Field Generator Technician, you will install, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial backup power systems for telecommunications, emergency services, and local businesses. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
This is a remote, site-based position. Candidates must reside in or south of Columbia, SC, as regular travel to client locations is required.

Shift Information
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including overnight travel as needed
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Basic electrical knowledge
General Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- DOT medical card required
- Must pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending and twisting
- Must be dependable and able to work independently
- Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with shop equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
- Professional appearance and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Essential Functions
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on commercial generators
- Troubleshoot and diagnose generator issues
- Evaluate and recommend necessary repairs
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of various generator models
- Provide excellent customer service
- Perform other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
- Remote, field-based position with frequent travel to customer sites in the Columbia, SC area
