Farm Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cultivation Lead / Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our cannabis farm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing our cultivation plan, managing all aspects of plant health, supervising staff, and ensuring strict compliance with all state regulations and company standards. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of cannabis cultivation practices.
**Responsibilities:**
_Cultivation Operations & Management:_
* Execute the 2025 cultivation plan, adhering to all aspects of Good Agricultural Practice
* (GAP) and owner-provided Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Manage planting activities according to provided field layout and spacing (approximately 2500 plants).
* Implement and manage watering and feeding schedules (approximately twice a week, weather dependent).
* Perform plant topping and tying to control height, regulate growth, and provide structural support.
**Other duties as assigned:**
_Integrated Pest Management (IPM):_
* Conduct weekly scouting of the entire cultivation site to identify potential issues.
* Complete physical scouting forms and submit data for entry into the Seed-to-Sale (S2S) system.
* Collaborate with the owner on mitigation responses for any identified pest or disease issues.
* Execute regular applications of Zerotol and biological inoculants (1-2 times per week).
* Perform de-leafing as needed to promote optimal air circulation and drying.
_Compliance & Data Management:_
* Assist with the execution of owner compliance tracking (seed-to-sale).
* Provide accurate data for entry into the Seed-to-Sale (S2S) software, including scouting records, IPM application records, feeding records, and harvest records.
* Support on-site state audits as a subject matter expert for cultivation-related questions.
* Immediately notify owners of auditor presence, ensuring sign-in and basic safety information review per company SOPs.
_People Management:_
* Supervise and manage 2 employees during daily cultivation operations.
* Oversee and manage crews of up to 8 people during de-leafing and harvesting operations.
_Property Management (as needed):_
* Assist the owner with the installation of fabric ground covering.
* Assist the owner with the installation of drip tape.
* Assist the owner with the installation of plant support poles.
* General maintenance of cultivation site such as mowing, weeding, and string trimming as needed.
_Harvest Operations:_
* Pre-harvest de-leafing of plants.
* Execute the first harvest cut, taking top/main colas for hang drying.
* Perform the second harvest cut, stripping plants for biomass.
_Communication:_
* Maintain clear and consistent communication with the owner.
* Participate in a weekly check-in call.
* Be available via text/call as needed during normal working hours.
**Qualifications:**
* Proven experience in commercial cannabis cultivation, with a strong understanding of all growth phases.
* Familiarity with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and experience implementing SOPs.
* Experience with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies in a cannabis setting.
* Proficiency in collecting and accurately recording cultivation data.
* Ability to learn and utilize Seed-to-Sale (S2S) tracking software.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising both small and larger crews.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Ability to perform physical tasks associated with farming, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of relevant state cannabis regulations is a plus.
