Flowers Foods, Inc. The Engineering Technician plays a critical role in maintaining efficient, safe, and high-quality bakery operations by performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across production and engineering systems.
This role requires strong electrical and mechanical expertise, comfort working with evolving technology, and the flexibility to rotate job assignments throughout the facility.
Perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks
Complete scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery
Respond to equipment stoppages and mechanical breakdowns
Troubleshoot issues and repair or replace worn/defective parts, motors, and control devices
Operate machine shop equipment, hand tools, and power tools; fabricate parts as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety, work rules, attendance, and compliance standards (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
Use SAP software for data input, reporting, and maintenance documentation
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision or management
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of 9–12 month vocational or technical certification program, OR equivalent military training, OR related technical training, OR two or more years of college education
Acceptable technical training may include the AIB Maintenance Engineering course
Demonstrated electrical and mechanical aptitude
Ability to rotate job assignments across engineering and production areas
Ability to work as part of a high-functioning team
Ability to obtain or maintain required licenses to work with boilers, refrigeration, and other regulated equipment (as applicable by location)
1+ year of experience as a technician
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
HVAC
Welding
Electronics
Electrical repairs
Industrial equipment installation, alignment, or start-up
Experience working in a manufacturing or food production environment
