Dealership Wash Manager

We are seeking an experienced and driven Dealership Wash Manager to lead daily operations within our was department in Sandy Springs, GA. This role is vital to maintaining high service standards, supporting team development, and ensuring operational efficiency. This role includes managing a team of wash attendants, maintaining equipment, supporting customer satisfaction, and ensuring smooth workflow between the wash and service departments.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and business-minded—with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and driving team success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations Management
Oversee all wash lane activities, including the automated wash process and manual interior/exterior wipe-downs.
Ensure vehicles move through the wash safely and efficiently with minimal wait times.
Monitor quality control for each vehicle before it’s returned to the customer or service team.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wash bay, staging areas, and supply rooms.
2. Team Leadership & Training
Supervise wash attendants, assign daily tasks, and manage break schedules.
Train team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and customer service expectations.
Lead by example with hands-on support during high-volume periods.
Conduct periodic performance check-ins and coach team members as needed.
3. Equipment & Safety Oversight
Monitor and maintain all automated wash equipment; report malfunctions promptly.
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checklists are completed.
Enforce all safety protocols to protect employees, customers, and dealership property.
Maintain proper inventory of cleaning supplies, towels, and PPE.
4. Customer Service & Dealership Communication
Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to prioritize vehicles based on customer needs and service timelines.
Address any customer concerns related to wash quality or vehicle handling.
Ensure consistent communication with management regarding staffing, equipment issues, and operational needs.
5. Administrative Duties
Track time, attendance, and performance of wash attendants.
Document and report any incidents, damage, or safety issues.
Assist in scheduling labor based on volume forecasts and dealership demands.
Qualifications
Previous experience in automotive, car wash, or service department operations preferred.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Basic mechanical understanding for equipment troubleshooting.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and be physically active for extended periods.
Ability to bend, reach, and move in and around vehicles.
This role requires working in extreme temperatures, including hot, humid wash bays and cold outdoor conditions during winter months
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
