Position Overview
As a Cultivation Specialist, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring the health, quality, and consistency of our cannabis plants from propagation through pre-harvest. You’ll work closely with the Cultivation Manager and team to maintain optimal growing conditions and deliver the high standards Verano is known for.
This role is ideal for candidates passionate about plant science, sustainable cultivation, and working in a dynamic production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support all aspects of plant care, including fertilization, pruning, trimming, cloning, and pest/disease monitoring.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant grow environment following company SOPs and state regulations.
Track plant progress using the seed-to-sale traceability system.
Monitor environmental conditions and report system discrepancies to management.
Assist in harvesting and post-harvest activities as needed.
Sanitize tools and equipment regularly to prevent contamination.
Contribute to the team’s continuous improvement and productivity goals.
Must-Have Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in plant cultivation, horticulture, or agricultural production.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow standard operating procedures.
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Must be 21 years of age or older and eligible for registration with the state cannabis commission.
Ability to work in humid, warm, and occasionally confined environments.
Must comply with all state laws and company policies regarding cannabis production.
Nice-to-Have
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Prior experience in a regulated production facility (food, beverage, or CPG).
Basic understanding of plant biology or horticultural processes.
Working Environment
Work takes place primarily in a warehouse cultivation facility.
Exposure to mechanical equipment, humidity, dust, and natural elements.
Moderate noise levels with frequent standing and walking.
Must be comfortable with heights (up to 25 ft) and changing temperatures.
