What You’ll Do

You’ll be matched with opportunities to serve as a Classroom Assistant for 1–2 hour shifts. Terms typically range from 6–18 weeks. In this role, you will:

• Support the primary instructor to facilitate engaging, safe classes.

• Arrive on time (or early) and help with setup/breakdown.

• Create memorable experiences and positive classroom culture for students.

• Assist with materials, transitions, attendance, and basic classroom management.

Schedule & Commitment

• Assignments are 1–2 hour sessions, generally after-school or early evening.

• Term length: 6–18 weeks; exact schedule varies by site and program.

• Roles are located across all five boroughs; reliability and punctuality are essential.

Must‑Have Qualifications

• Able to build a positive class community and rapport with students.

• Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and for your own learning/growth.

• Cooperative, supportive, and flexible teammate with a strong work ethic.

• Reliable and punctual; you “do what it takes” to support a great class.

• Two (2) professional references.

• Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to work onsite in New York City.

Nice to Have

• Experience assisting or teaching in after‑school/enrichment programs.

• Classroom management, youth recreation, camp, or tutoring background.

• First Aid/CPR, multilingual skills, or arts/STEM specialty interests.

Compensation Snapshot

• Hourly: $25.00–$35.00

• Per shift (1–2 hours): ~$25–$70

• If averaging 10 hours/week: $250–$350/week (approx.)
