Responsibilities:

• Customer Interaction: Maintain positive relationships with customers by delivering goods professionally and courteously.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the vehicle clean and in good working order, reporting any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the fleet manager.
• Route Planning: Plan and follow the most efficient routes to deliver goods on time while considering road conditions, weather, and traffic.
• Cargo Handling: Load, unload, or assist with loading/unloading freight, ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent damage.

Requirements

• Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License): Must hold a current and valid CDL for the appropriate vehicle class (Class A)
• Minimum Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
• Clean Driving Record: A safe driving history, with no major traffic violations or DUI/DWI convictions, and minimal at-fault accidents.
• Experience: 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience with a CDL is required
• Physical Health: Must pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical exam, which includes tests for vision, hearing, and overall physical condition to ensure the driver is fit for the role.
• Drug & Alcohol Testing: Must pass pre-employment, random, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing as required by federal regulations.
• Strong Knowledge of Traffic Laws & Regulations: Familiarity with federal and state transportation laws, including hours of service, weight limits, and safety rules.
• Ability to Handle Heavy Loads: Physical ability to lift, secure, and unload freight when necessary, depending on the job.
• Clean Criminal Background: A background check is required.
• Reliable and Punctual: A strong sense of responsibility, timeliness, and dependability is essential for delivering goods on time.
• Basic Vehicle Maintenance Knowledge: Ability to inspect and maintain the vehicle, identifying issues that may require attention.
• Endurance and Stamina: Ability to handle heavy loads, sometimes in challenging weather conditions or at night.
