Car Wash Installation & Maintenance Technician
Location
Washington, Oregon, and Northern California

Travel Required: Yes – regional travel to multiple car wash locations
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Car Wash Installation & Maintenance Technician to
join our team. This role is responsible for installing new car wash equipment, maintaining
existing systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring all equipment operates
efficiently and safely at our car wash sites across Washington, Oregon, and Northern
California.
Key Responsibilities
Installation
- Install car wash systems and components (tunnels, controls, MCC panels, chemical
delivery systems, LPR cameras, pay stations, etc.).
- Set up plumbing, electrical, pneumatics, and network connections according to
manufacturer specifications (e.g., Sonny’s equipment).
- Coordinate with contractors, electricians, and other vendors during new build or remodel
projects.
- Program controllers (Sonny's ICS/Laguna, DRB, Washify, Hamilton, etc.) and calibrate
wash settings.
Maintenance & Repair
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance: conveyor inspections, pump stand
servicing, oil changes (e.g., Wanner H25), motor/gearbox inspections, chain lubrication,
chemical levels, and sensor alignment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on wash equipment.
- Maintain MCC panels, relays, VFDs, proximity switches, safety sensors, anti-collision
devices, doors, blowers, and chemical pumps.
- Replace worn parts: bearings, nozzles, rollers, belts, hoses, valves, etc.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Respond to emergency service calls to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot issues with PLCs, control panels, LPR systems, gate loops, pay station
networks, and communication failures.
- Work with support teams from Sonny’s, DRB, NCS, Motor City, etc., when required.
Documentation & Compliance
- Keep detailed service records, maintenance logs, and parts usage reports.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical, safety, and environmental standards.
- Assist with inventory management for parts, chemicals, and tools.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in car wash equipment, industrial maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or related
mechanical field.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, plumbing diagrams, and site plans.
- Knowledge of 120V/240V/480V 3-phase systems, low-voltage wiring, pneumatics, and
hydraulics.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.
- Ability to work independently and safely.
Preferred
- Experience with Sonny’s, AVW, DRB, Motor City, or NCS systems.
- Certifications in electrical, mechanical, or PLC programming.
- Welding or fabrication skills.
- Basic networking skills (IP configuration, routers, Cat6, etc.).
Work Conditions
Field-based role with travel across Washington, Oregon, and Northern California.
Indoor/outdoor work, often in car wash tunnels and mechanical rooms.
Must lift up to 50–75 lbs and work on ladders, rooftops, or confined spaces when needed.
