Location: Phoenix, AZ

Position Summary

Our client is seeking Cannabis Defoliators, who will be responsible for preparing and processing harvests for flower sales and oil extraction. Successful candidates will also be responsible for equipment sanitization and sterilization as well as maintaining facilities’ cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for defoliating, debucking, trimming, grinding, drying, and curing cannabis harvests in preparation for oil extraction and/or flower sales.
  • Accurately weigh and record post-harvest materials.
  • Adhere to the departmental, site, and corporate safety policies.
  • Assemble secondary packaging.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area allowing for the proper segregation of materials and processes.
  • Precisely hand trim flower sales materials (2LBS per day requirement).
  • Clean and sanitize facilities and equipment to maintain required standards.
  • Organize work areas and perform daily tasks, such as washing and sanitizing equipment and racking systems.
  • Weigh, fill, and package flower products using aseptic techniques to prevent contamination.
  • Strictly adhere to internal SOPs and state regulations.
  • Emphasize documentation according to state regulations.
  • Foster a workplace that aligns with the company’s aim to be the Best Place to Work, Shop, and Invest in Cannabis.
  • Other duties as assigned by the management team.

Desired Experience

  • Must be at least 21 years old and able to obtain and maintain state Cannabis work credentials.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred experience in the cannabis industry.
  • Previous manufacturing work experience.
  • Familiarity with weights and measures.
  • Ability to fill out documentation accurately.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).
  • Ability to gown and work in an aseptic/clean room environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Commitment to established safety standards for handling chemicals and hazardous materials.

Physical Demands

  • Perform grasping, lifting, walking, standing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Must lift, carry, and balance up to 75 pounds (125 pounds with assistance).
  • May involve walking or standing for long periods, stooping, bending, and crouching.

Work Environment

  • Warehouse environment with artificial lighting and ventilation.
  • Potential for mold exposure.
  • Possible allergic reactions to or hypersensitivity to cannabis plants.
  • CO2 exposure may occur; proper ventilation is in place.
  • Handling corrosive chemicals, flammable liquids, and working with electricity and machinery.
  • Exposure to wet surfaces, confined spaces, and noise.
