**Budtender – Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Budtender to join our dispensary team. The ideal candidate will bring strong retail or hospitality experience, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of cannabis products, compliance, and customer service standards. This role requires someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Greet customers, provide a warm and welcoming experience, and guide them through product selections based on their needs and preferences.
- Maintain extensive product knowledge, including flower, concentrates, edibles, vapes, topicals, and accessories.
- Operate the POS system with accuracy, processing purchases, returns, discounts, and loyalty points following company procedures.
- Verify customer identification and ensure all transactions follow state and local compliance regulations.
- Educate customers on dosage, product effects, strain types, and safe consumption practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and service counter.
- Restock inventory, track product levels, and communicate shortages or discrepancies to management.
- Assist in opening and closing duties, including cash handling, drawer reconciliation, and POS reporting.
- Provide exceptional customer service while managing wait times, answering questions, and resolving issues professionally.
**Qualifications:**
- 1–2 years of retail, customer service, or hospitality experience required; prior cannabis experience preferred.
- Strong POS skills with experience using retail systems (Dutchie, Treez, Flowhub, or similar).
- Excellent communication, active listening, and customer-facing skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and comfortable working flexible shifts, including weekends or holidays.
- Must meet all state requirements, including age restrictions and any necessary cannabis worker permits.
