Banquet Server – Plated (High-End Event)

Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule:

  • Pre-shift Training: Tuesday, November 11 | 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM EDT (Paid 4 hours)

  • Event Shift: Wednesday, November 12 | 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM EDT
    Pay Rate: $24/hour
    Employment Type: Temporary Event

Overview

We’re seeking experienced Banquet Servers to join the team for an upcoming high-end plated service event. This is a great opportunity for polished professionals who understand the Steps of Service, excel in fine dining environments, and can deliver a seamless guest experience.

You will be expected to attend a mandatory paid pre-shift training on November 11 to review service standards, event expectations, and site layout before working the main event on November 12.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact with guests professionally, providing excellent customer service.

  • Perform butler passing, plated service, and tray carrying with precision and composure.

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces, including tables, chairs, and linens.

  • Take and deliver food and beverage orders promptly and accurately.

  • Maintain and restock buffet or service stations as needed.

  • Bus tables and support other team members throughout service.

  • Follow all sanitation, safety, and food handling guidelines.

  • Uphold professional conduct and appearance at all times during the event.

Requirements

  • Previous banquet or fine dining serving experience required — must be familiar with Steps of Service.

  • Comfortable with butler passing, plated service, and carrying banquet trays (8–10 plates or glassware).

  • Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and carrying trays or furniture.

  • Must attend mandatory pre-shift training (paid) on November 11 and work the full event shift on November 12.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills — able to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must follow all sanitation and safety regulations.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Dress Code

  • Black slacks (no jeans, leggings, sweatpants, or athletic wear)

  • Black long-sleeve, button-down shirt (pressed and wrinkle-free)

  • Long black tie

  • Non-slip, closed-toe black shoes with black socks

  • Hair must be neat and clean (long hair tied back)

  • No jewelry, except a plain wedding band (for safety)

  • Clothing must be free of holes, rips, or patches
