Associate General Counsel

Our client in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Associate General Counsel for a direct hire opportunity.

Schedule: Hybrid schedule with half days on Fridays

Role:

• Provide comprehensive legal advice, counsel, and services to all departments and functional areas
• Recommend legal safeguards and compliance requirements
• Manage litigation, government audits, and enforcement matters

Additional responsibilities include:

• Evaluate Agent contracts and compensation matters
• Prepare and file regulatory documents
• Draft responses to insurance regulatory complaints
• Collaborate with outside counsel for litigation management
• Review and approve policy forms and marketing materials
• Assist in contract management and intellectual property protection
• Ensure compliance with election laws
• Participate in corporate committees and budget preparation
• Supervise Legal Assistant's activities
• Keep abreast of legislative updates
• Support financial audits and maintain relations with regulatory bodies

Background Profile:

• Licensed attorney in good standing in the state of Texas
• 2-5 years of legal experience
• Insurance experience preferred
• Strong communication, legal research, writing, analysis, and advocacy skills
• Project management and team experience
• Knowledge of trusts and estates, corporate laws, and applicable legal regulations
