Job Title: Assistant Deli Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Deli Manager in all aspects of department operations

• Supervise and lead team members, fostering a customer-first atmosphere

• Maintain product quality, freshness, and ensure inventory control

• Manage department merchandising and sales strategies for profit

• Ensure all safety, sanitation, and food handling standards are met

• Participate in hiring, training, and development of deli staff

• Coordinate production planning and customer service initiatives

• Operate deli equipment, manage deliveries, and maintain equipment safety

Qualifications:

• Minimum 18 years of age

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in deli or food service preferred

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to lead by example with a positive, customer-friendly attitude

• Demonstrated ability to manage team performance and meet department goals

• Knowledge of food safety, weights and measures, and store safety standards

• Ability to lift 70 lbs and stand for extended periods

• Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays
