About the Role

As an Assistant Preschool Teacher, you’ll work side-by-side with a Lead Teacher to create a warm, engaging, and organized classroom for children ages 2–5. You’ll help set up learning activities, guide children through daily routines, support emotional and social development, and keep the classroom safe and joyful.

This role is ideal for someone who loves children, thrives in a collaborative team, and is eager to grow in the field of early childhood education.

Responsibilities

1. Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lessons and play-based activities.
2. Help maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment.
3. Engage warmly with children, offering guidance, encouragement, and comfort.
4. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and rest times.
5. Assist with classroom organization, setup, and daily cleaning tasks.
6. Communicate positively with families and team members.
7. Model kindness, patience, and respect at all times.
8. Follow all licensing regulations, center policies, and health/safety standards.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED (required); CDA or Early Childhood coursework preferred.
2. Experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, or similar setting.
3. CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain prior to start date).
4. Reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic about working with children and a teaching team.
5. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
6. Ability to lift 30 lbs and participate in active play.
