Senior Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a well-established insurance firm in Dallas, TX. This is a Direct Hire Opportunity!

Role of Senior Accountant:

• Prepare and review quarterly and annual statutory statements (Blue Books) in line with statutory accounting principles.
• Review monthly journal entries and financial statements.
• Manage general ledger account reconciliations and variance analyses.
• Coordinate GAAP and STAT audits.
• Handle state regulatory filings, tax returns, and other reports.
• Assist with regulatory requirements, new business lines, and reinsurance partnerships.
• Collaborate with auditors, state examiners, and senior management.
• Contribute to cash management and compliance with accounting standards.
• Strengthen internal procedures and efficiencies.

Requirements for Senior Accountant:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting focus.
• CPA certification or eligibility is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience.
• 5+ years of recent experience in Insurance Financial Accounting and Statutory Reporting.
• Strong knowledge of US statutory insurance/reinsurance accounting and regulatory reporting.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing Life insurance company financial statements on a statutory basis.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with Model Audit Rule compliance is beneficial.
