Job Summary
Maintenance Supervisor is a skilled trade mechanic position that is responsible for all manufacturing equipment in the facility. In this position you will be responsible for maintaining all equipment to ensure that the manufacturing processes meets all safety, plant and corporate objectives. Managing other skilled mechanic positions, through scheduling, hiring and recommending discipline, is also part of this role. You will supervise and coordinate the work activities of the warehouse maintenance Team Members and to provide them with clear direction to meet customer requirements, maintenance demands and Company goals.Job Description
- Experience Required: 3 to 5 years; Flexibility in scheduling with the availability to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and extended hours when necessary.
- Experience Desired: 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment; Ability to read and interpret Union contracts; Warehouse Maintenance experience
- Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent plus up to 18 months of additional training
- Certification or Licensing Required: OSHA, Ammonia Refrigeration
- Lifting Requirement: Up to 10 pounds; Up to 50 pounds
- Travel Required: Regional - Daily, Less than 10%
- Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age; At least 21 years of age
Job Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate a team of maintenance mechanics with equipment maintenance support for all manufacturing equipment and processes including preventive maintenance and on-demand/emergency basis.
- Provide multi-disciplined capability in troubleshooting, diagnose and repair malfunctions on a wide variety of complex, electro-mechanical equipment (mechanical, pipe, pneumatic and hydraulic).
- Responsible for machine parts inventory and maintains appropriate replacement parts.
- Advise the timing of maintenance work on machines to maximize equipment up-time.
- Perform maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with quality and GMP requirements; always adheres to all safety requirements.
- Interface as needed with outside vendors for parts purchases.
- Assist in the development and recommend updates as needed for maintenance procedures and best methods.
- Provide communication to all Team Members as appropriate by following proper escalation procedures.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks for equipment and facility in accordance with manufacturer's and/or engineering guidelines.
- Ensure proper maintenance of department's records on all equipment and company property.
- Coordinate all PM with manufacturing, quality control, and management.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer's documentation.
- Provide backup for building maintenance coverage and fills to manage mechanic team in Managers absence.
- Recommend methods or training to continuously improve the team of maintenance performance.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as business needs require.
- Maintain a sanitary, safe and clean work area.
- Perform alignments, adjustments to machinery and equipment as needed with various tools, control switches, dials and buttons.
- Participate in review of proposed equipment purchases.
- Manage and oversee the process of the maintenance team, in addition to coaching, developing and providing performance feedback.
- Perform on-call duties when troubleshooting is required for HVAC, pharmaceuticals, and refrigeration. Provide resolution and follows up as needed.
- Maintenance and repair of all food manufacturing equipment.
- Develop schedules for Maintenance Mechanics and ensure appropriate coverage for manufacturing and warehouse maintenance.
- Assist with interviews of replacement mechanics and makes final recommendations for hiring.
- Assist in planning and implementation of all special projects or capital improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory demands and maintain documentation to prove compliance.
