About the Role

As a Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator, you will oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare command centre and serve as a shift lead, ensuring the safety and smooth operation of the facility. This role combines leadership, technical monitoring, and direct interaction with staff, visitors, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Serve as shift lead and oversee security staff deployment
• Orient security guards to their respective roles
• Monitor and operate command centre systems (CCTV, access control, fire/life safety)
• Make emergency overhead announcements
• Track, deploy, and assist with staffing needs
• Collaborate with the Security Coordinator on projects and training
• Answer telephones and dispatch calls from the command centre
• Manage Lost & Found, ID/access card issuance, and visitor/contractor badges
• Liaise with Paladin Operations Centre, visitors, clients, and staff
• Handle incident call taking and reporting
• Maintain composure in urgent and high-pressure situations
• Write clear and concise reports
• Communicate concerns/issues to the Site Coordinator

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination
• Valid Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, TB skin tests 1 & 2)
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C Certification (WSIB approved)
• Experience working in a command or dispatch centre
• Authorized to legally work in Canada

Nice-to-Have (Preferred Skills)

• Previous healthcare security experience
