About the Role

As a Rapid Response Security Guard, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the safety and security of Baycrest Hospital and surrounding sites. You’ll respond quickly to incidents, support hospital staff, and ensure all safety protocols are followed with professionalism and care.

Location: Baycrest Hospital, North York, ON

Pay: $18.25–$18.59/hour

Schedule: Continental Nights (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM)

Travel Requirement

This role includes consistent travel within a 40 km radius of Baycrest Hospital. Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

Conduct proactive patrols throughout hospital grounds
Monitor security cameras and alarm systems
Enforce hospital access control and visitor policies
Respond to emergencies including fire alarms and medical codes
De-escalate conflicts and assist with crisis situations
Greet and assist hospital staff, patients, and visitors
Complete accurate daily reports and incident documentation
Collaborate with hospital staff and local authorities
Support hospital operations within a 40 km radius of Baycrest

Requirements

Valid Ontario Security License
Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (WSIB-approved)
Valid G or G2 Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
Certifications in Use of Force and MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behaviour)
Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, 2-step TB skin test, and COVID-19 (2 doses)
Fluency in English (oral and written)
Ability to work continental night shifts
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Comfortable working in healthcare settings
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
