POSITION SUMMARY

 

Located in North America’s wind belt, Davenport is at the forefront of renewable energy technology and has remained home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities since 1927. Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late ‘90s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages, and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, and Kit N Kaboodle® brands.  

 

As the Maintenance Electrician, you are responsible for the preventative electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical equipment in the factory. You will follow plant sanitation practices and procedures while staying informed of new technology and equipment as it pertains to plant operations. Working in a safe manner at all times, you will play a major role in machine reliability and process improvements across the plant. Our maintenance work includes both predictive and preventative maintenance.

 

  • Properly use maintenance equipment including hand tools, lifts, threaders, benders, drills and welding equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain switch gears, control wiring and components, overcurrent and overload protection for plant motors including three phase systems.
  • Design, program and troubleshoot plant PLCs, VFDs, input/output devices and associated equipment.
  • Read, update, and create electrical prints and documentation.
  • Properly install conduit, raceways, fittings, etc.
  • Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators.
  • Troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • MUST BE OPEN TO ALL SHIFTS.
     

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, military, or related environment OR 2 Year Technical Degree
     

The approximate starting hourly pay for this position is $34.13 per hour for Maintenance Electrician. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
