Industrial Maintenance Technician - Livingston, AL
2nd Shift - 3PM to 11PM

The Opportunity:
- The maintenance technician will be responsible for providing safe and timely mechanical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, a familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics and have basic troubleshooting experience with a proven ability of machine repair.
- Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities depending upon area of assignment including performing basic trade activities.
- Must have a familiarity with NFPA 70E and Lock out/Tag out standards and can apply these standards in the work situation.
- Operates a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts as required.
- Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems and other mechanical systems on production equipment to assure optimum performance of that production process.
- Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Will be required to respond to production downtime issues resulting from mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical issues.
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment problems without supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the maintenance manager or another member of the leadership team.
- Will be required to wear proper PPE: Safety glasses, ear plugs, bump cap, steel toe boots. hairnet, beard net, gloves, facemask.
What you need to succeed:
- Minimum High School Diploma, GED, certification in a particular trade (preferred)
- 1 to 3 years in manufacturing maintenance environment
- Print Reading, Pneumatics, Troubleshooting Skills
- Safety glasses, ear plugs, bump cap, steel toe boots. hairnet, beard net, gloves, facemask.
- Compliance with workplace rules, policies, and procedures, SQF, AIB, safety, etc.
- Ability to set priorities, achieve deadlines, and manage multiple tasks at the same time
- Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver messages to customers and WestRock employees
- Ability to easily adapt to fluctuations in business cycles and workload.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Be comfortable working independently and within a team environment.
- Able to work 12-hour shifts including weekends/nights with good attendance.
- Demonstrates strong basic computer skills to utilize the maintenance work order and inventory system.
- Must have good communication skills to engage other employees, management and outside vendors while troubleshooting and distributing necessary information to others.
