HVAC TB Mech Apprentice (un)

What you will do

This is a mechanical HVAC service and repair position.

We will equip you with the required tools to perform your job at the highest standard.

How you will do it

Probationary Employees shall perform mechanical equipment service and all other work coming under the labor agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer, and shall perform all assigned work under the direction of the Employer. Troubleshoot, performs maintenance, and resolve equipment issues. Responds to basic calls for service. Keeps JCI, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed. 

What we look for

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent or currently enrolled in an HVAC certificate program.
Familiarity with HVAC equipment (residential or light commercial)

The ability to perform general building maintenance
Self-starter with ability to work independently
This position requires a current driver's license
Willingness to supplement on-the-job training.

Good verbal and written communication skills

Familiar with HVAC related applications and use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.…)

Preferred
EPA Refrigeration certification a plus
 

This is a Bargaining Unit Position but is subject to all pre-hiring screening of JCI. With successful performance, JCI may recommend you to the Union Local apprenticeship program, as well as continued employment at JCI.  Acceptance by Union Local 4must occur within 365 days of employment or will result in termination of this position.  This is not a guarantee of employment or entering the Union. The Union has its own entry, qualification & screening programs.
