About the Role:
Are you someone who enjoys hands-on work and has a knack for mechanical repairs? Clean Harbors is looking for a Facility Maintenance Repair II Technician to join our team! In this role, you'll perform hands-on maintenance activities, specializing in mechanical repairs. If you have a strong background with heavy equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, or welding — we want to hear from you.
Some positions may require certifications to work on different types of equipment, like heavy-duty off-road machines, yellow iron, and on-road vehicles.

What You'll Be Doing:
• Perform basic to intermediate repairs and preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment, including pumps, forklifts, and more.
• Conduct quality assurance checks (QA/QC) on completed repairs.
• Operate forklifts safely (training provided if needed).
• Follow all Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Understand and comply with area-specific environmental and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• For heavy-duty equipment techs:
o Handle maintenance and repairs for a wide range of fleet assets (like dozers, excavators, and rock trucks).
o Troubleshoot and repair engine emissions, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

What You Need to Bring:
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Specialized training or one year of college in Automotive/General Studies preferred.
• Even better if you have two years of college focused on Heavy Duty Equipment or related fields!
• Experience: 5 to 7 years of hands-on maintenance work.
• Certifications:
o Forklift certification (required).
o 421A Certification, H2S Certification, Confined Space Certification (may be required depending on site).

Skills That Will Set You Apart:
• Strong welding, mechanical, or pipefitting skills.
• Familiarity with Preventive Maintenance (PM) software.
• Solid experience in a plant or industrial environment.

Physical Requirements:
This is a hands-on role with physical demands like:
• Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
• Using hand and power tools safely.
• Occasionally operating forklifts, heavy equipment, and small trucks.
• Ability to wear a respirator as needed (20-30% of the time).
You’ll also need good vision (near, far, peripheral, and color) and hearing to operate equipment safely.

Additional Details:
• Typical Shift: Stand 4 hours, walk 3 hours, sit 1 hour per day.
• Work Type: Medium — frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Travel: Minimal to none.
